This is the 2nd album of Fuse Bluezz in the extended CD version! All titles recorded at ORANGE STUDIO, Vienna - in Corona Times 2021, except Tr 04, which was recorded live at music club REIGEN (Vienna) and tracks 03, 06, 07, 11 & the vocals of 09 recorded in 2024. We spared most of these tracks (as a follow-up for our album „Blues Indeed“ (Jive Music JM-2100) for the better days to come after Corona! That didn‘t really work! GAZA, RUSSIA and the CLIMATE do their best to spoil the world for the coming years! So for us it stays „a hoping and waiting" On these tunes though there is more positve feeling and humour!
All music is produced, arranged, engineered and mixed by RENS NEWLAND, who also played or programmed several keyboards & percussions , plus sang some backvocals. A lot of input and inspiritation came from the co-initiator of the project: PETER GRUBER. Christmas time is for the crooner HERB CARUSO the most wonderful time. Suddenly everyone wants to hear Christmas ballads, so he can serve with pleasure and passion, as he has played countless Christmas concerts and has already released some of his favorite songs on CD or VINYL. But this year there is a premiere: RENS NEWLAND composed, produced and arranged a Christmas song for HERB, a romantic swinging and groovy one Ballad that immediately inspired him. The title YOU COULD BE MY ChristMISS was sung in late summer and it was decided to release an EP with further Xmas highlights from CARUSO's repertoire. With an instrumental version as the last track, some gentlemen can even surprise their loved ones with a singing performance at Christmas time.

This is the 2nd album of Fuse Bluezz! Rens Newland's roots were the Blues! Way back in the 60s in Holland. His journey went over Experimental Pop, Fusion, Funk, Jazz, Latin, Rock, Studio, etc.. But he loves  to come back to these roots now and then!  Co-initiator of the project is Peter Gruber, from whome came a lot of input and inspiritation and who plays the bass here! Vocals are again taken over by Ric Toldon! Drummer  is the young Simon Springer. Keyboard man Martin Wöss added some piano and synth additions. Again the basic sound is of course build on Mr. Newland's guitars, here he uses some of his dearest instruments, like Gibson Les Paul custom,  ES 335 and L5, Fender Strato and Tele, Godin Red Line, Parker Fly and Takamine Acoustic Steel. The tracks once more show the broad possibilities of the Blues in form and sound: Delta Blues, Funkblues, Jazzblues, Rockblues and more. Some instrumental tracks are of course also part of the concept! All the music is by the bandleader and most of the lyrcs are, one is by Ric Toldon and one by Lional Lodge, a former partner of Mr. Newland.

Myroslav Levytsky(p) and Rens Newland(g), both great personalities on their instruments, came together the first time in 2001. In the following years a cooperation developed itself between Braty Bluzu (the band of Myroslav and his brother Oleg) and Rens Newland. Myroslav has classical and eastern roots, Rens has Blues, Rock and Jazz, so western roots. They had a small Tour in Austria which resulted in a Live Album "Myroslav Levytsky & Rens Newland Project "One Autumn Concert" released in the Ukrain. This is the second album of just the two, again recorded in Vienna in Rens' Orange House Studio. It's mainly inspirational and meditative solo Piano pieces. Three tracks feature Rens Newlnd on steel string guitar.

As one of the pioneers in the European Jazz Rock/Fusion Jazz movement in the 70s, of course OSTINATO was also inspired by Miles Davis. Each of the individual band members in their own way: Tommy Böröcz was clearly impressed by Billy Cobham's rock drumming style, Andi Steirer was enthused by the role percussion started to play in groove music, Rens Newland really loved the approach of John McLaughlin. The musicians who joined later, such as Robert Riegler and Robert Schönherr, certainly included Miles in their playing, directly or indirectly through Joe Zawinul. Likewise, the ostinato horn section uses the same insights that Miles gained for the start of a more global, cosmopolitan style of playing. At this concert the group presented a selection of their own inspirational works from their albums, as well as some adaptions of Miles Davis tunes.

This is the second album of the Funk/Fusion/Latin Jazz band. At this time the status of the group was quite settled, after the time of big festivals like Velden and Wiesen in Austria. The band is touring at least two times a year, mostly in the german speaking part of Europe: Austria, Switserland, Germany.

This here is Rens Newland's big journey through time, from 1974 to 2022. Singles recorded by him, most of them his originals. From collaborations with Scope (Netherlands/Germany), to OSTINATO or Fuse Bluezz project (Vienna, Austria). Also solo guitar pieces and a lot of studio productions through the years on which he played or programmed all instruments. With SCOPE you hear Rik Elings on bass, Rob Franken on rhodes & synthesizer, Henk Zomer on drums. On "NEWLAND" you hear Tommy Böröcz on drums, Alee Thelfa om Percussion, Harry Gansberger on keys, Heinz Jäger on Bass. On OSTINATO you hear additional Gina Charles (later Charito) & Martin Fuss. On FUSE BLUEZZ you hear Simon Springer, Peter Gruber & Martin Wöss.

As Rens Newland's roots were in the 1960s Blues, the Electric Blues of John Mayall, Eric Clapton and in Holland Cuby & the Blizzards or Living Blues. and he always tried to keep this deep music feeling in all the projects and styles he did in the meantime, it was no big jump to get back into that and make a Blues album. He and his friend Peter Gruber (bass player) were talking now and then in the last years, that they should do such a project together!

This is a very emotional, interesting and important project by guitar artists Rens Newland
With a very precise composing system he made melody modules, blocks or modules
(how you like to call it), constructed out of the names of the people of his tribe. Additionally he tried to weave their personalities, their characters,
music tastes and moods into the compositions and arrangements.
The musical styles go from Funk and Jazz to Rock and Hip-Hop, but all in his range of taste!
Again he used a lot of different guitars out of his collection to get the right sound to each vision.
