The Austrian guitarist Roland Stonek is at home in several styles, like Jazz, Country and Latin. Here he finally presents his first album as a bandleader, of course with his favorite kind of music: Jazz in the tradition of Wes Montgomery. He chose the guitar/organ/drums-format, with Joris Dudli on drums and Erwin Schmidt on the organ and decided – since it is his debut – to expand the trio for this recording by a hornsection consisting of the creme-de-la-creme of Austrian musicians: Daniel Nösig/trumpet, Bernhard Wiesinger/alto sax & flute, Thomas Kugi/tenor & baritone sax and Robert Bachner/trombone. On six of his eight original compositions you can hear them blowing those great horn arrangements written by the gifted Thomas Kugi. These - together with the superb playing of those admirable musicians – add another dimension to his music.

 „My Instrument is the Orchestra“ is the result of the work over the previous 10 to 15 years. Bandleader, arranger and composer Markus Geiselhart has tried to go new ways with this production – based on tradition in music. So he experimented in the matters of line up, composition and arrangement, but also with the way the production was mixed. It's a great Big Band, featuring soloists like THOMAS KUGI (tenor saxophone), HERWIG GRADISCHNIG (baritone saxophone), MARTIN KOLLER (guitar), HERBERT JOOS (flugelhorn), ROMED HOPFGARTNER (alto saxophone), CLEMENS SALESNY (alto saxophone), MARIO ROM (trumpet), MARIO LACKNER (drums), STEFAN THALER (bass), ALOIS EBERL (trombone), GERMAN MARSTATT (flugelhorn), finding new ways and new combinations using interesting sounds like rock guitars and electronics!

Windjammer What The World Needs Now Sunshine Superman

This very groovy band around drummer Andi Weiss plays real cool funky stuff, as the group name indicates. Austrian masters of groove-Jazz, like Christian Havel and Thomas Kugi are featured, completed by the strong rhythm of Erwin Schmidt(organ), Herfried Knapp(b) and Anton Mühlhofer(perc). A mix of big/well known songs and some special ones are brought in the fine, reduced sound of the band! (recorded live!)

Doujie Gazelle Groove

Christian Havel, one of the leading Jazz guitarists of Europe, started “just for fun” jamsessions in the oriental club/restaurant „Aux Gazelles”, somewhere in Vienna. Out of this Session grew a really tight band, this studio recording is a document and a prove for that! The lovely combination of a warm sounding Jazzguitar, a smokey Hammond organ, a light and swingy drums and a snake charming saxophone bring us in the feeling to be right between New York and the Orient.
