Vienna Symphony Jazz Project
The VSJP was founded 1983 by Siegfried Küblböck developed itself from a Sextet to an eleven-piece Ensemble. The classical musicians of today and especially those of the Vienna Symphonic Orchestra are in general very open to recent styles of music. They were already involved in projects like V.S.O.P with Christian Kolonovitz or the "Christmas in Vienna" CDs and live shows!
There are also a great number of smaller line-ups (like „Symphonietta“ or „EOS String Quartett“) with these musicians that do modern classic. The Vienna Symphony Jazz Project deals with „Cool Swing“ and makes very interpretations of tunes by Duke Ellington to Miles Davis in a very authentic sound. The line-up with up to six horns and violin(!) and good new arrangements make a full and round performance!
